KISS Unveil Massive “Rock and Roll Over” Super Deluxe Box Set to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Legendary rock band KISS have announced an extensive reissue of their fifth studio album, featuring 100 previously unreleased recordings and the first official live material from their legendary 1977 Tokyo concerts.

KISS have officially announced a massive and richly curated box set celebrating the 50th anniversary of their fifth studio album, Rock and Roll Over. The collection will be released on November 6, 2026, in 4CD + Blu-ray and 6LP vinyl formats.

100 Previously Unreleased Recordings

The collection contains a total of 130 tracks, including 100 previously unreleased recordings and new mixes, making it one of the most extensive archival projects in the band’s history.

New 2026 Stereo and Dolby Atmos Mix

Legendary producer Eddie Kramer, who worked with KISS on the original album, has returned to remix Rock and Roll Over, creating a new 2026 stereo mix as well as a Dolby Atmos version. The original 1976 mix has been remastered by Bernie Grundman.

Previously Unreleased Demos

The box set includes 22 demos and previously unreleased versions, including nine Gene Simmons tracks and the unfinished instrumental “Queen for a Day”, which was originally intended to feature Ace Frehley on lead vocals.

Live in Japan 1977

One of the biggest highlights is the inclusion of official live recordings from four KISS concerts at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo in April 1977. These performances are being officially released for the first time.

The Super Deluxe package also includes a 104-page hardcover book by Ken Sharp, featuring new interviews, replica newspapers, Madison Square Garden concert posters, badges and archival press materials.

Originally released in 1976, Rock and Roll Over represented a return to a rawer and more energetic sound following the studio experimentation of Destroyer. The album featured several of KISS’ best-known songs, including “Calling Dr. Love,” “I Want You” and “Hard Luck Woman.”

The Super Deluxe Edition is set to become a definitive archival document of one of the most important albums in KISS’ career, offering fans a deeper look at the creative process behind the band’s sound during one of the most formative periods of their history.
